The War

ATOMIC BOMB ENDED THE WAR, BECAME THE KEY TO HELL

SPRING 2020 / PERSONAL WORK

AWARDS:

Madworks Global Super Model Cup, Diorama Group _ Finalist

“Human beings consist of a physical body in which the soul, like a ghost, is imprisoned. It is often said that the head is the prison of the soul, which experiences pain and hope in this life. The flesh decays, and the soul is not imprisoned, but it is the beginning of death. War unnaturally accelerates decay, leaving the experience shrouded in pain, hope replaced by despair, and no longer possessing the keys to heaven.”

World War I and World War II were the two great wars during which many people died. This is because people always hope that they can get benefits. These wars have affected the integrity of our homes, such as nuclear weapons. Different weapons and new technology have affected our natural environment; in the worst case, the earth's ecology will be destroyed.

This work was to be information from the human mind and a negative feeling, so the plaster model of the skull was chosen. Half of the skull was hollowed out in this process, and the appearance of streets and houses during the war was recreated. It is presented from different angles and materials, such as ultralight clay, bricks made from ABS plastic sheets, buildings, and metal products to enhance the details.

NATURE

They feed everyone with hope and idealism, become carriers of consciousness, and lead to the road without end."

"Eyes see fate; there is no happy future; the only thing you can see is the flowers blooming after being buried in the ground.

ORGANIC ELEMENT
This work incorporates elements of nature and plants into the skull design, such as the remains of the dead found in battlefield ruins, parasitized by other species. The hand-drawn text adds artificial elements.

The cruelty of the war flowed through the waterfall to
the letters sent home.

DETAILS
Tiny paper models were used to show the time of the war era. Epoxy resin, some leaf models, and plaster casts were used to reflect the feeling of war ruins. The whole skull model and the negative emotions reflected in the painting were used to highlight the impact of the war. The building model reflected the region and the media in people's war lives. Ruins reflect the consequences of what people will do and the world we will live in.

The paper behind the waterfall records all the battles of World War II.

BUILDING CONCEPTThe materialized sculpture model revolves around the central design concept of conceptual art, redesigning and producing the scene below the painting. In terms of details, in addition to the scale figure model, the time of the hands on the watch on the Grail is the time of the atomic bomb explosion in Hiroshima, Japan.
